May Update: Celebrating New Beginnings and Important Reminders
May is here, and with it, the close of another school year. Colleges are wrapping up, and high school seniors are finishing their final days. For graduates, this marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
We are thrilled to announce that Kory Davis will be joining our team full-time after his graduation this May. Kory has been a wonderful intern, and we are confident he will be an even better account representative.
If your family is also moving through these significant milestones, now is a great time to review your financial plans. Have you thought about your plan as your situation evolves?
Also, don’t forget that May 5th is Give Local Isabella! Visit the website to learn how you can get involved and support the non-profit organization of your choice. There are ways for everyone to contribute and make a difference.
Congratulations to Connie Bacon on Her Retirement!
We are so happy for Connie as she embarks on her next chapter, spending quality time with her daughter Shannon, hitting the gym, supporting her church, and embracing her official roles of dog walking and kitty supervision.
Connie began her journey with Peggy Pickler State Farm on February 10th, 2003, as a licensed account representative. Over the past five years, she has worked part-time—a great arrangement that has benefited both her and the office. We are truly thankful for these extra years of her dedication and service.
Connie will be retiring on May 29th, 2026. Please stop by the office on the 29th to share your well wishes. We will be holding an open house all day in her honor, with treats provided!
Working in a small office, we’ve had the privilege of really getting to know one another. We’ve supported each other through sickness and loss, as well as celebrated health and good times. For a few years, we even had the joy of working alongside Shannon and Connie together.
Connie has shared that what she loved most about this job were the people and the connections. In her earlier years, there were many more face-to-face interactions, and she cherished getting to know customers personally while making policy changes and discussing ways to protect their families. Some of her favorite moments include celebrating milestones with families, like kids getting their driver’s licenses or graduating. It’s been wonderful to share in that joy and growth, guiding customers safely through life’s transitions. Even more special is seeing those “kids” return as adults, starting their own businesses and careers.
Working closely with people, Connie has always offered understanding without judgment—just a genuine desire to help and educate. Being able to support and connect with customers has truly been a great joy for her.
Please join us in celebrating Connie’s remarkable career and wishing her well in her retirement!
About me:
I grew up in Mt. Pleasant. I love being able to work and volunteer in my hometown to help make it a better stronger community. It is wonderful meeting new people, moving to town to attend Central Michigan University and building multiple generational family relationships with long term customers. I enjoy watching families grow and change and am honored to be there for my customers in their greatest time of need.
I proudly follow in my mother’s footsteps as a 2nd generation State Farm agent. My family has believed in and relied on State Farm for almost as long as the company has been around. My grandfather started his Auto policy in 1939 and we have been here ever since! I love representing a 100 + year old strong ethical company. The State Farm mission statement “Is to help people manage the risk of everyday life, recover from the unexpected and realize their dreams” The company lives this customer focused mission and so do my team and I.
When I’m not in the office you can find me cheering for my kids at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools or Parks and Rec. sporting events (Go Oilers!), attending Rotary meetings and events, helping protect our youth with the Isabella County Child Advocacy Center, and participating in chamber meetings and events. When in my downtime I love spending time outdoors with my husband and kids, boating, hiking, campfires, running, skiing, reading and boardgames are some of our favorite activities.
I attended Michigan State University, earning my BA. While in East Lansing I was a member of the rowing team and have the distinction of being a Big Ten Champion. I now work with a wonderful caring team of insurance professionals. I have continued my education with multiple professional licenses.
My great team and all these licenses allow us to do so much more than just auto insurance. Whether you are renting and need renters insurance, own a condo and need condo insurance, or a homeowner and need homeowners insurance, we are here to help! We love helping customers who are approaching retirement and need help setting up retirement plans or navigating Med supplements. We take the time to talk to everyone about the importance of life insurance to protect those we value the most. Working with small business owners for their business insurance needs is rewarding since I am a small business owner too. Come see us and see what my team and I can do to make you part of our State Farm family.
